The charter of the Alpha Sigma Sigma Alumni Chapter was officially established in 1953 on the 21st day of February in Hempstead, Texas. The five men who pioneered this feat were:

Bro. Albert O. Williams

Bro. Lewis W. Engram

Bro. Marshall Bass

Bro. Luther V. Francis

Bro. Nathaniel C. Harden

In 1985, the chapter became inactive due to members accepting employment in other cities. It was not until 1995, that six brothers revived the Alpha Sigma Sigma Chapter. They were: 

Bro. Dr. Frank T. Hawkins

Bro. Charles E. Crockett

Bro. Monson L. Durham

Bro. Carl A. Taylor

Bro. Nathaniel C. Jones

Bro. DonAntonio Williams.

Currently, Alpha Sigma Sigma is alive and growing stronger with new members and a deeper sense of purpose. Alpha Sigma Sigma serves as the advising graduate chapter to Delta Theta, the undergraduate chapter on the campus of Prairie View A&M University and Alpha Lambda Alpha, the undergraduate chapter at Texas A&M University. 

Where there are great men to be made, Sigma will make them!!!

It is an honor to serve as President of a chapter rooted in excellence, service, and brotherhood. As members of a graduate chapter, we are committed to upholding the values of our beloved fraternity while advancing our impact through leadership, mentorship, and meaningful engagement within our communities.

Our chapter is composed of accomplished professionals, civic leaders, entrepreneurs, and public servants who understand the power of unity and purpose. We partner with local organizations, and serve as a beacon of brotherhood and progress in the Prairie View and surrounding areas. We also take pride in advising the undergraduate chapters of Sigma at both: Prairie View A&M University and Texas A&M University.
